Angelika Berns grew up in Oberhausen which is in the Ruhr area of Germany. As a child, harmony singing played an important part in family gatherings and it has remained close to her heart ever since. While studying in Lancaster, England, Angelika became active in the traditional singing scene which resulted in performing in many of the folk clubs in the area. This led to becoming a founder member of “Limerick Junction”, with whom she made two recordings and played at the famous Ballyshannon Festival in County Donegal, Ireland. In more recent years Angelika was a member of “Friel’s Kitchen” and also launched a solo album “Just Songs”. Her distinctive voice is warm and clear, lending itself to both sensitive lyrics and powerful ballads.
